What a great little drone.

The Potensic Atom 2 is hands down my favorite drone I’ve ever flown, and honestly, I think it’s one of the most underrated drones out there right now. Every time I take it up, I’m blown away by how much performance and quality Potensic managed to put into something that’s under 250 grams.

First off, the camera. This is what really sold me on it. The Atom 2 is rocking a 1/2-inch sensor that can shoot 48MP photos and 4K video at 30fps. That’s the same sensor size you see on some of the more premium DJI minis, except this is in a drone that costs way less. The sharpness and detail you get is crazy for such a small drone — trees, water, buildings, sunsets, it all comes out crisp. Colors are vivid and natural, and the dynamic range is strong enough that I don’t have to worry about skies blowing out or shadows crushing too much. Pair that with the 3-axis gimbal, and the footage looks smooth even when there’s strong wind. It genuinely feels like flying a high quality aerial camera, and is way past being just a “toy drone.”

Then there’s the flying experience, which is probably the part I love most. After first flying it for 5 minutes, I felt like an expert. No need for obstacle avoidance that adds $500, you will be an expert pilot of this drone too. The Atom 2 feels super locked in when it’s in the air. The GPS hold is solid — it just sits where you put it. The Return To Home is extremely accurate for a drone this size in this price range; I fly worry-free knowing my drone is a great pilot and will get itself back safely. Controls are smooth and responsive, so you can get cinematic pans and tilts really easily, but if you want to rip around and fly fast, it can do that too. Even though it’s so light, it handles wind way better than I expected. I’ve flown it in gusty conditions, especially in Ireland (where the 3 photos came from) and the photos were crisp and the drone easily held its ground. The speed modes are fun — Normal is great, Sport mode really lets it move, and Cine mode is perfect for smooth shots.

The Controller is very comfortable in my hands. It is sturdy and durable, while being ergonomic and VERY easy to use. The new antenna has great range, even in my area where there are many trees and some power lines. (The two green images and the bridge are from a vacation, my area has more obstacles)

Battery life is another win. Potensic advertises up to 32 minutes, and in real-world flying I get close to that — usually around ~27 minutes, which feels like forever when you’re in the air. That’s more than enough for a full session, and if you’ve got the extra batteries (which are so much more affordable than DJI), you can stay out flying for hours.
- The optional charging hub beats out that which comes from similarly priced DJI drones, because the Potensic hub quickly charges all 3 at the same time, so you have 3 batteries in about 80 minutes. The DJI hub however charges one battery at a time, basically providing no benefit because your 3 batteries won't be fully charged for 3+ hours.

I also really like the intelligent flight features. Follow-me actually works really well — it keeps me framed while I’m walking, biking, or just moving around, which is perfect for solo filming. The orbit mode is fun for circling shots around a subject, and waypoints let you plan out cinematic moves in advance. Cine-roll allows for jaw-dropping shots without having to buy the $2000 Mavic 4 Pro. 360 Panorama is probably my favorite feature to use, allowing you to interactively explore areas from every angle, always capturing the perfect view. These are the kinds of features I used to think you could only get on high-end drones, but the Atom 2 pulls them off impressively.

And of course, portability is one of its biggest strengths. Since it’s under 250g, I don’t need to deal with registration in a lot of places, and it’s so small I can literally just toss it in my backpack. That makes it the kind of drone I actually bring places, instead of leaving at home because it’s too bulky. Having something this capable in such a small, lightweight package is *huge*.

At the end of the day, the Potensic Atom 2 is the drone that makes me excited to fly. It’s not just good for the price — it’s genuinely great, period. The camera, the stability, the features, the portability… it all comes together into a drone that delivers way more than you’d expect. Every time I take it up, I’m reminded why I love it so much. If someone asked me what sub-250g drone to get right now, I wouldn’t hesitate: the Potensic Atom 2, you will NOT regret it.

I really enjoy to flying the Potensic Atom 2 drone. The flying drone is very good stable. The pictures and videos are high quality. The Potensic Eve app have very good features. It is affordable. Two thumbs up and recommended!

I bought it from Amazon at $508.00 delivery was fast, the only why don’t gives 5 stars because it didn’t include the SD card or memory card, and price didn’t includes insurance
